finally getting fuel!

last year when i got the webers tuned over at fast freddies, he said he could rejet and get rid of that pesky flat spot if i only had an electronic fuel pump.  So earlier this week when i took the Z in to get the oil changed (hey, it’s worth the $25) i was poking around while it was up on the lift and asked tony, my mechanic, how hard it was to add an EFP. to my surprize, he said min had one! yikes! mine actually has both a mechanical AND electronic fuel pump. so after a couple minutes of poking around with a multimeter, he determined it was not getting power, and therefore not working at all! 20 minutes later,  a couple of digs through the ancient shop manual, and he determined that a wiring connection under the dash was connected to the wrong thing. he plugged it in correctly, and, “wa-la” FUEL PUMP!

It’s amazing how much better she runs when those thirsty webers are actually getting fuel! so much better, that the RB25 engine swap i was pondering doesn’t sound quite as attractive right now…. i’m sure i’ll change my mind soon, tho.
