red truck across the median

“you’ve got a nice ride there, dude.” the cool, bald, goatie-clad gentleman shouted across the median. we were both stopped in traffic along university near UCI — he was going the other way of course. i scanned his truck searching for a compiment to return, noticing that his mostly-ignored-red truck had the same rims as my Z! (outlawII’s) i flashed a quick thumbs-up. but before i could return a shout-out to him he asked, “1976?” , i responded, “1973” and traffic cleared. of course i tried to give him a 6-cylinder symphony as i sped away.
